Party Theme

Get a party theme and go with it!

If you are doing a Dog themed party go all out!

Have a dog cake.

Name plates that look like dog tags.

Use dog dishes (new ones would probably be more appetizing than used ones) for serving bowls.

Make invitations that look like dogs.

Play pin the tail on the dog, etc.

You get the drift, pick a theme that you really like and make everything flow with it.

Party themes will create purpose for games and just plain fun! Make everything related to the theme.

For example, if you pick dogs for your theme don’t just have a regular cake or the whole point of a theme is gone.

Have fun with your theme and your guests will too.

One party I did was a Dora the Explorer Birthday Party for my daughter.

She was turning 3. We did Dora invitations. Had Dora decorations and a Dora cake.

Some of the kids even got into it and dressed up in Dora clothes. Or used wrapping paper with Dora on it.

For an activity we went on a treasure hunt (which is what Dora does in all her cartoons) with a prize at the end. We stuck with the theme and the kids got into the games more because they all knew they were playing a role.

It was great fun!
