If you are going informal consider your own home or a friends, reserve a park, or a small hall.

If you are planning a more formal party a nice hotel, restaurant, or reception hall, which are not just for weddings, are great. Some people have back yards that can easily be transformed into a beautiful party setting.

Wherever your Party Location make sure it is large enough to accommodate everyone.

Some benefits of restaurants, hotels or reception halls are they generally can accommodate any size group, do the catering, decorating, setting up and cleaning up. This can leave much less hassle for you. But make sure to have reservations well in advance and consider the cost if you are on a tight budget.

One drawback of this option can be less control of the party. Be prepared to take charge. Go over exactly what you want with your contact and double check a few times on how things are going. As the party gets closer and it seems everything is under control check again.

3 days before the party go to the party site and make sure everything is prepared. They should have decorations, music, servers lined up etc. Go through your entire party an additional time with your contact at this appointment.

Follow up a few hours before the party to make sure lights, music, etc work and the menu is what you ordered.

This can be very successful or a nightmare. If you are very in charge it will be a success and less work for you!

The benefits of a home or yard are it’s more cozy and informal which is great for close friends and family. It can cost less and you have more control over what happens, but you also take on more work. You can do it if you plan ahead and have help for a large group.
