Christmas Games - Secret Signs

Most of the time Christmas games involve some type of gift exchange.

While I do like those games and there are a lot of fun ways to play Christmas gift games. This game is very different.

Secret Signs! takes no props! You can play with 5 to 30 people.

Have you ever wondered why if the saying “wickedness never was happiness” is true than how come wicked groups always seem to be forming and growing larger?

The answer lies in the fact that people enjoy knowing something and showing secrets.

Something about knowing something that another person doesn’t, gives that person who knows the secret some indescribable pleasure.

In the game Secret Signs the players form a circle and choose one person to leave the room. While he is out all the other players pick a sign.

These signs can be anything from blinking, winking, making an OK sign, or a Hang Loose sign. Anything that can be done silently and inconspicuously behind a person’s back without them knowing you are making any movements.

When everyone has picked a sign, whatever you want it to be, invite the person who has left back into the room.

The goal of this person is to figure out who has the sign! Similar to “Button, button, who’s got the button?”

Before the person was let back into the room decide on someone to start as the sign keeper.

His job is to pass the sign to someone else without being caught.

Let’s say I have the sign and I want to pass it to Joel. I will flash my sign to Joel. So if my sign was a wink. I would wink at Joel.

If Joel accepts my sign he will wink back. If he does not want to be the sign keeper e will do nothing.

But be wary if you do not accept people’s sign it may bite you in the butt later!

Now that Joel has the sign he will try to pass it to someone else. Let’s says Cindy. If Joel’s sign was sticking his tongue out he would stick his tongue out at Cindy, and Cindy would accept it by sticking her tongue out as well.

If Steve was the person who was trying to figure out the sign keeper he would be watching people closely. If the group is a little more advanced you can have people doing silly things all the time. But if you have new players probably just being casual would be better.

If while I was passing my sign to Joel, Steve saw me he would accuse me. If Joel had already accepted the sign Steve would be wrong. If Joel had not Steve would be right.

Whoever gets caught with the sign becomes the new person in the middle.

The game starts over and that person goes outside while the group picks new signs.
