A What?
Type of Game: Icebreaker Party Game - A What? Equipment: Monosyllabic Objects Formation: Group # of Players: 10+ Description: Have the group form a circle. Gather monosyllabic(items with only one syllable like knife or spoon) items for as many people there are in the circle. Therefore if the circle has 10 people you need 10 items. Choose one person to be the leader. They will start by choosing one object, let's say it is a spoon. They hand this object to the person on their right, and say: "This is a spoon." The person replies: "A What?" Leader: "A Spoon." Person: "Oh, A spoon!" The person then takes the spoon and hands it to the person on their right, now becoming the leader. At the same time, the original leader has picked up a new object, and has passed it on. The second person now must carry on two conversations at the same time, looking from one to the other. Here's an example of what it should be like: Leader: This is a spoon. Person #1: A What? Leader: A Spoon Person#1: A What? Leader: A Spoon Person #1: Oh! A Spoon Leader: This is a knife Person #1: This is a spoon Person #1: A What? Person #2: A What? Leader: A knife! Person #1: A Spoon Person #1: A What? Person #2: A What? Leader: A Knife! Person #1: A Spoon! Person r#1: Oh, a knife! Person #2: Oh, a spoon! etc. etc. Players will continue to pass and pickup new items. If players mess up they can either be out or have to do something embarrassing to stay in.
